The Tater® G Force 2.0 is the patent-pending Split Grip® Overload Trainer. It's an overload training bat used in daily sessions by professional hitting coaches and serious players at every level. Hand-built in Cheshire, CT in collaboration with Big League hitting coach Guillermo Martinez.
The Split Grip® overload training bat used at the pro level
The G Force 2.0 is exclusively manufactured by Tater Baseball® and is patent pending. It was developed in close collaboration with Guillermo Martinez, a Big League hitting coach. The G Force 2.0 addresses the specific weaknesses overload training fixes in pro and amateur swings.
The Split Grip® design is the differentiator. It separates the top and bottom hand on the handle. That isolates the top-hand path through the zone and forces the hitter to drive the bat with proper mechanics. Combined with the heavier weight, the G Force 2.0 builds:
- Top hand strength — drives the barrel through contact with authority.
- Bat path — locks in a consistent swing plane through the zone.
- Barrel control — teaches the hitter to feel the head of the bat.
- Proper body movements — initiates the kinetic chain from the ground up.
When to use the G Force 2.0
This bat is built for both off-season and in-season work. Hitting instructors use it for tee work, soft toss, and live BP during the off-season strength block. In-season, it doubles as a weighted training bat for on-deck work. Swing it before stepping in, then go to the plate with a game bat that feels lighter and quicker.
Pair it with the SST Underload Trainer for the complete overload underload training methodology. Or buy them together in the Overload & Underload Training Pack.
Sizing the G Force 2.0
The G Force 2.0 is a heavy training bat that comes in lengths from 30" to 34". Weight approximately matches +6 to 8 ounces of your desired length. For example, a 32" G Force weighs approximately 38 to 40 ounces. Order the same length you currently use as a game bat for the most direct training transfer.
