Every Tater bat is hand-built in Cheshire, Connecticut, from pro-grade wood. Wood is a natural material, and even the best billet can crack. If yours does in the first 30 days, we'll replace it.

What's covered

Cracking or breaking from normal use within 30 days. The 30 days start on the delivery date for online orders and on the purchase date for in-store and dealer purchases.

Covered on every Tater wood bat, including stock, custom, youth, softball, and fungo bats, bought from:

  • taterbaseball.com
  • our Cheshire, CT store
  • an authorized Tater dealer, such as Better Baseball

What we'll do

We'll replace your bat with the same model and specs. If that model is no longer made, we'll replace it with a comparable bat, or give you store credit for its full price. Custom bats are rebuilt to the same specs, including engraving.

The replacement bat isn't covered by a new 30-day warranty.

What's not covered

  • Damage from hitting dimpled cage balls, batting-cage pitching-machine balls, or anything other than regulation balls for your sport
  • Bats stored in hot cars, garages, or anywhere with extreme heat, cold, or moisture
  • Bats that have been sanded, shaved, cut, or modified, including the handle
  • Paint chips, scuffs, ball marks, and finish wear: they're normal on a wood bat and don't affect performance
  • Bats bought secondhand, or from a seller who isn't an authorized Tater dealer
  • Misuse, such as using the bat to knock dirt off cleats or hitting anything other than a ball

Softball bats: hit regulation softballs only, never baseballs or dimpled balls.

How to keep your bat strong

  • Hit with the logo facing up. Wood is strongest on the edge grain.
  • Use your wood bat with real balls, not dimpled cage balls; Tater foam balls are fine.
  • Store it indoors at room temperature.
  • Wipe it down after wet games.

How to make a claim

  1. Email contact@taterbaseball.com within 30 days with:
    • your order number or receipt (dealer receipts are fine)
    • photos of the crack and the full bat, including the logo
  2. We'll reply within 1 business day. Most claims are decided from the photos.
  3. If we need to see the bat, we'll tell you where to send it. Most customers never have to ship a cracked bat.

If a claim isn't covered, we'll explain why. If you sent the bat in, we'll ship it back to you.

We reserve the right to decline claims where the bat was clearly misused or the warranty is being abused.
