The Tater® X6 Pro Pine Tar Bat with charcoal barrel is a two-tone X6 pine tar bat. The handle captures the pine tar look — sealed into the maple, no smell or mess. The barrel goes dark charcoal for a clean two-tone aesthetic with the colors flipped from the standard pine tar build. Hand-built in Cheshire, CT and ready to ship.
The X6 pine tar bat with the pine tar handle finish
This is the X6 turn profile in an inverted version of Tater Baseball®'s signature pine tar visual style. Where the X4 Pine Tar has a charcoal handle and a pine tar barrel, the X6 flips that. The pine tar runs down the handle for the classic on-deck-circle look. The charcoal barrel keeps the bat looking sharp through long seasons.
Why pine tar without the actual pine tar
We as ballplayers know through experience that the pine tar look is swaggy. But real pine tar comes with cons. It can ruin the rest of your gear or other bats. Putting it in your bag, resting it on your shoulder, or grabbing it with batting gloves spreads tar everywhere. You won't notice until it's on everything. The Tater® version is sealed into the wood — you get the look without the cleanup.

It's a build for hitters who want bat speed with the weight transfer to drive the ball. Looking for a different finish? Try our X12 Original Pine Tar Bat for the classic look. Or the X4 Pine Tar with charcoal handle for the inverse two-tone. Or build any model with the pine tar look in our Custom Bat Builder.

Tater® vs. other brands
There's a reason pros are switching to swing Tater®
Most wood bats are made for retail shelves — lower-grade lumber, bulk machining, inconsistent pop. The Tater® Wood Bat is hand-split, hand-finished, and bone-rubbed to MLB standards.
- Higher density wood lasts longer and provides better “pop” off the barrel.
- Ink dot tested to prove our bats meet professional standards.
- Hand-split wood follows the natural grain, making bats stronger, more durable, and less likely to break.
- Bone rubbing compresses the wood fibers, making the bat harder, improving durability, and increasing ball exit speeds.
