A bat built specifically for you
Every Tater® custom bat is turned, finished, and engraved by hand in our Connecticut shop, using the same process as our pro player bats.
The heaviest big-barrel wood bat in our lineup. The extra-large barrel and end-loaded weight distribution put more mass further down the bat, the kind of swing weight power hitters feel at contact. It isn't for everyone, but for the right hitter it's the most dangerous bat we make.
With a thicker handle, that barrel would slow the swing down. The thin handle keeps bat speed up so all that mass turns into exit velocity, and the traditional knob stays neutral so aggressive hitters can commit fully through the zone.
Maple gives the hardest hitting surface and the cleanest pop off the barrel. Birch flexes a touch more and forgives mis-hits, which many high school and college hitters prefer. The 243 swings the same in either wood. Compare maple, birch and ash.
Want a 243-style barrel with a flared knob and medium handle? The I13 Pro. Want power with a lighter, slight end load? The XL5 Pro. Still deciding? Take the Bat Finder or check the Wood Bat Size Chart.
Below are examples of colors you can mix and match.
Every color can be paired with a different color handle and barrel.
You can use this as a reference to get creative with your custom wood bat!

Tater® vs. other brands
Most wood bats are made for retail shelves — lower-grade lumber, bulk machining, inconsistent pop. The Tater® Wood Bat is hand-split, hand-finished, and bone-rubbed to MLB standards.

TATER KONG
Embedded to the bottom of the knob, these medallions are to show that you stand out.
Each medallion signifies identifying characteristics (i.e. pro, amateur, youth) and adds a different element to our bats to #letthatsticktalk.
