A bat built specifically for you
Every Tater® custom bat is turned, finished, and engraved by hand in our Connecticut shop, using the same process as our pro player bats.
The I13 puts mass where it counts. A hybrid of two proven turns, it pairs the flared knob and 15/16" medium handle of the 271 with a larger, 243-inspired barrel. A sharp taper pushes weight forward into a true end load, creating the whip and exit velocity power hitters need, while the flared knob keeps your grip secure through hard contact.
Middle-of-the-order hitters who want maximum barrel mass without giving up all their bat speed. Strong hand speed and a confident swing path unlock it. If you've liked a 243 for power but found the knob uncomfortable, this is the build to try.
Maple gives the hardest hitting surface and the cleanest pop off the barrel. Birch flexes a touch more and forgives mis-hits, which many high school and college hitters prefer. The I13 swings the same in either wood. Compare maple, birch and ash.
Want speed and power in one? The XZ Pro. Want the classic balanced turn? The 271 Pro. Still deciding? Take the Bat Finder or check the Wood Bat Size Chart.
Below are examples of colors you can mix and match.
Every color can be paired with a different color handle and barrel.
You can use this as a reference to get creative with your custom wood bat!

Tater® vs. other brands
Most wood bats are made for retail shelves — lower-grade lumber, bulk machining, inconsistent pop. The Tater® Wood Bat is hand-split, hand-finished, and bone-rubbed to MLB standards.

Embedded to the bottom of the knob, these medallions are to show that you stand out.
Each medallion signifies identifying characteristics (i.e. pro, amateur, youth) and adds a different element to our bats to #letthatsticktalk.
