Built for the coach who demands quality
The Tater® PS150 is an outfield fungo bat — a lightweight, end-loaded fungo designed specifically for coaches. Built to hit ground balls and fly balls with less effort, through a full practice. Hand-built in the USA from pro-grade hard maple.
End-Load Design
Weight pushed toward the barrel end creates natural momentum on every swing — coaches can hit consistent ground balls and fly balls with far less effort.
Lightweight & Durable
Thin .890" handle and narrow 2.438" barrel keep the bat light enough to swing hundreds of times without fatigue — built to hold up through a full season of practice.
Pro-Grade Hard Maple
Built to the same quality control standard as our pro game bats — hard maple that holds up through high-volume use and delivers crisp, consistent contact every time.
🏛
Same quality control as our pro game bats. Whether it's for daily practice or a season-ending gift for your coach — this fungo is built to the standard that serious programs expect.

Tater® PS150 outfield fungo bat — the coach's tool

Fungos are built for one job. They let coaches hit high volumes of ground balls and fly balls without destroying their arm. The PS150's end-loaded feel creates natural momentum through the swing so the bat does the work. The lightweight construction keeps it manageable rep after rep. This isn't a novelty — it's a serious tool for serious programs.

The end-loaded weight is the differentiator. Our IF1 Infield Fungo is built for precise grounders with its narrower barrel. The PS150 carries enough mass at the end to lift fly balls cleanly to the outfield. It's the coaches fungo bat for outfield-focused practice, mixed BP, and full-team work.

One of the best coach's gifts in the game

The PS150 has two buyers. Coaches who hit thousands of fly balls a season love it because it's built for that volume. Players, parents, and teams love it because a custom-engraved PS150 makes one of the best coach's gifts in baseball. It's the kind of thing that sits on a desk for years.

For team gifts or season-end presentations, email contact@taterbaseball.com. We engrave the PS150 with the coach's name, the program, and the year.

Tater® vs. other brands

There's a reason pros are switching to swing Tater®

Most wood bats are made for retail shelves — lower-grade lumber, bulk machining, inconsistent pop. The Tater® Wood Bat is hand-split, hand-finished, and bone-rubbed to MLB standards.

  • Higher density wood lasts longer and provides better “pop” off the barrel.
  • Ink dot tested to prove our bats meet professional standards.
  • Hand-split wood follows the natural grain, making bats stronger, more durable, and less likely to break.
  • Bone rubbing compresses the wood fibers, making the bat harder, improving durability, and increasing ball exit speeds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the PS150 outfield fungo and the IF1 infield fungo?
The PS150 has a wider 2.438" barrel and an end-loaded feel — the extra mass at the barrel end helps coaches lift fly balls cleanly to the outfield with less effort. The Tater® IF1 Infield Fungo has a narrower 2.25" barrel and a balanced feel, optimized for precise infield grounders. Most programs that have both rotate them based on the practice plan.
Can the PS150 be used for infield ground balls too?
Yes, the PS150 hits ground balls just fine — the end-loaded feel makes it efficient for any volume hitting work. But coaches who run dedicated infield drills typically prefer the narrower-barrel IF1 for its precision on shorter, faster grounders. The PS150 is the better choice when you need one fungo that handles both fly balls and grounders.
Is the PS150 a good coach's gift?
Yes. The PS150 is one of the most-ordered coach gifts in Tater Baseball®'s lineup. A custom-engraved PS150 — typically with the coach's name, program, and year — is a season-end keepsake that sits on a desk or office wall long after the season ends.
