A bat built specifically for you
Every Tater® custom bat is turned, finished, and engraved by hand in our Connecticut shop, using the same process as our pro player bats.
The Tater® IF1 is designed specifically for infield work. The 2.25" barrel with extra mid-barrel thickness creates a punchy, concentrated contact point. Coaches use it to place ground balls precisely. It simulates the speed and angle of infield shots without straining the arm through a full practice.
The 2" flared knob and 31/32" handle keep the grip comfortable and secure through hundreds of swings. The result is a wood fungo bat that lets coaches run a full session without wearing down.
The IF1 has two audiences. Coaches who hit thousands of ground balls a season love it because it's built for that volume. Players, parents, and teams love it because a custom-engraved IF1 makes one of the best coach's gifts in baseball. It's the kind of thing that sits on a desk for years.
For team gifts or season-end presentations, email contact@taterbaseball.com. We engrave the IF1 with the coach's name, the program, and the year.
Tater Baseball® hand-builds wood bats for hitters in MLB, MiLB, and Division I college programs. The IF1 carries the same craft standard as our pro game bats. It's a coaches fungo bat built to outlast the program using it. Looking for game bats too? Browse our Custom Wood Bat Builder or the Tater-X12 PRO contact-hitter model.
Below are examples of colors you can mix and match.
Every color can be paired with a different color handle and barrel.
You can use this as a reference to get creative with your custom wood bat!

Tater® vs. other brands
Most wood bats are made for retail shelves — lower-grade lumber, bulk machining, inconsistent pop. The Tater® Wood Bat is hand-split, hand-finished, and bone-rubbed to MLB standards.
