A bat built specifically for you
Every Tater® custom bat is turned, finished, and engraved by hand in our Connecticut shop, using the same process as our pro player bats.
The Tater-X12 Pro is built for hitters who don't fit one category — players who work counts, use the whole field, and still have the ability to drive the ball when they see something to hit. Inspired by Francisco Lindor's custom game model, the thin handle and medium barrel create a fast, balanced swing that rewards discipline at the plate.
The X12 is Tater's most-ordered X-series model — same wood, same turning logic, and same hand-finishing as the bats we cut for hitters in MLB, MiLB, and Division I college play. Family-owned since 2015, 500–1,000 bats a week out of our Cheshire, Connecticut shop, MLB supplier — that's the shop you're ordering from when you put an X12 in the cart.
The X12 sits at the contact-hitter end of our balanced lineup. Want the classic 271 turn with a flared knob and medium handle? See the Tater 271 Pro. Want the X12 thin handle paired with a larger end-loaded barrel for middle-of-the-order pop? Check the Tater XZ Pro. Looking for pure power with a 243-inspired barrel? Head to the Tater I13 Pro.
Maple gives you the hardest hitting surface and the cleanest "pop" sound off the barrel; birch flexes a touch more and is more forgiving on mis-hits, which a lot of high-school and college hitters prefer. The X12's thin-handle, medium-barrel feel doesn't change with species — pick the wood, the bat stays the same. Read more in our Maple vs Birch vs Ash guide.
Take the Bat Finder to confirm length, drop, and feel. Check the Wood Bat Size Chart before you commit, or browse the rest of our Custom Wood Bat lineup. Want to spec your own colors and engraving on the X12 silhouette? Head to the Custom Wood Bat Builder.
Made in Connecticut, swung in MLB.
Below are examples of colors you can mix and match.
Every color can be paired with a different color handle and barrel.
You can use this as a reference to get creative with your custom wood bat!

Tater® vs. other brands
Most wood bats are made for retail shelves — lower-grade lumber, bulk machining, inconsistent pop. The Tater® Wood Bat is hand-split, hand-finished, and bone-rubbed to MLB standards.

TATER KONG
Embedded to the bottom of the knob, these medallions are to show that you stand out.
Each medallion signifies identifying characteristics (i.e. pro, amateur, youth) and adds a different element to our bats to #letthatsticktalk.

MADE TO PERFORM

This allows us to create the best bat on the market, and our software can prove it.

Our Bats are all finished with our industry leading SVS finish technology.
Our finish is second to none and the hardest in the game.
